Safety Management Systems
Mentors consultants recognise the importance of employers meeting their legal obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Dangerous Goods Act 1985, Accident Compensation Act 1985 and associated regulations. We also refer to Australian Standards and National Model Regulations and Codes of Practice where necessary.
We take a risk management approach to occupational health and safety in the workplace. Mentor’s consultants also use audit techniques and knowledge of safety management systems such as SafetyMap and AS4801:2001.
When using the risk management approach we consider the following:
Mentor does not use a one size fits all approach to health and safety. We understand the importance of assessing client needs to ensure that systems and processes are relevant to their workplace. We also aim to enhance client ability to deal with workplace safety - we provide guidance, systems and tools that can be maintained and remain relevant and effective beyond the term of the project.

May 2006: Australian Paper - Maryvale Pulp Mill Upgrade
Mentor (Then Source Engineering Solutions) provided Procurement, Construction and Contract Administration Services for the third party design and operated wood yard which consists of a new wood chipping line, latest technology first in first out woodchip recovery system, high speed road chip delivery and screening systems and over 4,100 metres of delivery conveyor belts.
Works value in excess of $65 million
August 2005: Bluescope Steel - Taiwan
Mentor (then Source Engineering Solutions) provided Contract Management and Administration Services to Bluescope Steel in Taiwan assisting the Project Team deliver a wall cladding and glazing solution to the Corning Glass factory in Taichung.
Project value in excess of US$40 million.
